One of the largest museums in our country: its collection numbers approximately 1.4 million exhibits.

\r\nThe Museum's exhibition presents historical events of the last 150 years. Rare museum artifacts combined with modern technologies immerse the visitor in the atmosphere of different eras.

\r\nThis is the only museum in the country that presents the entire contemporary period of Russian history. The exhibition 'Russia. 21st Century: Challenges of the Time and Development Priorities' is the first attempt to present Russian history from 1985 to the present day and has no analogues in Russia.

\r\nBranches within the Museum: exhibition-memorial departments 'Presnya', 'Underground Printing House of 1905–1906', 'Apartment of G. M. Krzhizhanovsky', as well as the E. Yevtushenko Museum-Gallery, the 'Katyn' Memorial Complex and the 'Mednoye' Memorial Complex.
