"We Shall Defend Moscow!" Poster by N. Zhukov and Viktor Klimashin, 1941

The poster "We Shall Defend Moscow!" appeared in 1941, when the front line reached the capital. The Battle of Moscow lasted from 30 September 1941 to 20 April 1942, and the poster's call was addressed to the city's defenders.

Its authors were the artists N. Zhukov and Viktor Klimashin. Klimashin (1912–1960) was a graphic artist who worked in magazine illustration, posters, watercolour and drawing; "We Shall Defend Moscow!", made together with Zhukov, is one of his known works.

This sheet is one impression from the print run, printed on paper; the catalogue gives Moscow and Leningrad as the place of publication.
