Schelykovo is a museum complex dedicated to the life and work of the great playwright A. N. Ostrovsky. The museum-reserve includes the House of A. N. Ostrovsky, a manor park with vistas, the Literary and Theatrical Museum with exhibitions and displays, the ethnographic museum 'Sobolev House', the Church of St. Nicholas and the Blue House. All these places are connected with Ostrovsky's life and work. The House of A. N. Ostrovsky creates the impression of a lived-in home and conveys its spiritual and creative atmosphere. The manor park with gazebos, bridges and shady alleys is a wonderful place for walks. The Literary and Theatrical Museum acquaints visitors with Ostrovsky's era, the themes and issues that occupied the playwright. The ethnographic museum exhibits items of peasant daily life.
