Museum 'Art Crafts of the Ivanovo Region'
About museum
\r\nThe 'Art Crafts of the Ivanovo Region' Museum is part of the Ples Museum-Reserve. In May 2008 a permanent exhibition was opened, located in the 'Flour Rows' building, a 19th-century landmark. Here visitors can acquaint themselves with the works of masters of Ivanovo's traditional arts and crafts: weaving and the two centers of lacquer miniature — Palekh and Kholuy. The museum presents 185 exhibits arranged across two halls. The eastern hall is dedicated to the lacquer miniatures of Palekh and Kholuy of the 20th century. The centerpiece of the exhibition is a set of furniture painted by A. M. Kurkin. The western hall displays a 19th-century hand Jacquard loom and a curtain produced on it. Products from the Yakovlev Manufactory are also exhibited. In the art salon visitors can purchase original works by the masters, souvenirs and jewelry. The museum offers insight into the technique of creating lacquer miniature works and invites visitors into the poetic world of the Ivanovo Region's artistic crafts.
