F.I. Chaliapin Music Museum is the first musical-theatrical museum in the Republic of Bashkortostan dedicated to a figure of global significance.

The museum is located in the very heart of the capital, in an architectural monument of old Ufa — the restored mansion of the Solovyov merchants. This magnificent and cozy late 19th-century building is an example of wooden architecture and part of a former urban estate. In the museum's exquisite halls, interiors of the late 19th — early 20th centuries in the Art Nouveau style have been recreated.

It was on the Ufa stage in 1890 that the professional debut took place of the brilliant operatic artist and singer who would go on to conquer the world's greatest stages. Subsequently F.I. Chaliapin marked anniversaries and ceremonial dates, counting the years spent on stage from those memorable Ufa tours.

The F.I. Chaliapin Music Museum is intended to commemorate not only the name of the brilliant Russian singer. Display cases present musical instruments, manuscripts, rare sheet-music editions, and memoirs of famous musicians, composers, and performers from the Republic of Bashkortostan. The museum's overall collection already numbers more than 900 unique exhibits, most of which date from the 19th to the early 20th century.
