Memorial Lyceum Museum
About museum
In 1949, on the 150th anniversary of A. S. Pushkin's birth, the Memorial Lyceum Museum was opened in the building of the former Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum. Here, from 1811 to 1817, Pushkin found devoted friends and gained inspiration for his works. The museum recreates the Grand Hall, the Newspaper Room, the library, classrooms, pupils' bedrooms, as well as the governor's apartment and the quarters of the drawing teacher S. G. Chirikov. On the second floor there is a permanent exhibition, "We Live by the Lyceum's Memory", which tells the 200-year history of this remarkable educational institution and the fates of the Lyceum's graduates over the years. Surely this museum will be an unforgettable place for visitors and will attract many admirers of A. S. Pushkin's poetry.
