Kursk Nightingale Museum opened in Kursk on June 4, 2007, the day the nightingale is honored in the folk calendar. It was proposed and implemented by Lyubov Nikolaevna Yeremina and is dedicated to the living symbol of the Kursk region — the nightingale. In 2017 the museum was incorporated into the Kursk Regional Museum of Local Lore and acquired state status. The museum houses more than 700 exhibits devoted to the nightingale. Here you can learn about this bird, read about why in folk tradition it is called the 'ruler and sage of the soul', how the fame of the Kursk nightingales arose, why it became the main music of war, and so on. Each year the museum welcomes over 5,000 visitors. It is an interesting place for everyone without exception; here you can see and hear many unusual things about the symbol of the Kursk region — the nightingale.
