Motto: 'A museum must always be ready for the challenges of the times.' The museum conducts: classes and lectures under museum programs; scientific and practical conferences; Orthodox ritual holidays (Christmas, Easter, Maslenitsa, Dozhinki, Honey Savior, etc.); guided tours of the city and the museum's halls. The museum organizes: from 10 to 15 thematic exhibitions per year. The Novouralsk Historical and Local Lore Museum is a new-type museum. Alongside the history of the city's development, you can see the region's plant and animal life, encounter the ancient past, pay tribute to the military exploits of participants in the Great Patriotic War, and admire the selfless labor of the city's first builders. Milestones: May 7, 1975 — a people's historical and local lore museum was opened in the city. January 1, 1994 — the museum was granted the status of a municipal historical and local lore museum; this date is considered the museum's second birthday. The museum has: a building of 417 sq. m, exhibition areas of 216 sq. m; collections of more than 14,000 storage units (including 10,491 units of the main fund); staff: 14 people, including 6 research employees; exhibitions in four halls: 'Nature of our region', 'Our region in the past', 'For peace on Earth', 'Our city'.
