Urazovo Local History Museum
About museum
The Urazovo Local History Museum was opened on May 28, 1988. It was housed in the building of the Orthodox Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, built in 1898 with funds from the Kiryanov brothers. In 2005 the museum moved to an old building and preparations for a new exhibition began. The museum displays documents, photographs, items of archaeology, everyday life and ethnography, as well as personal belongings of notable locals. The museum's collections are steadily growing and comprise more than 28,000 items. The main collection totals over 20,000 items, while the scientific and auxiliary collection is about 8,000. Of particular interest are the archaeological collection, the ethnography and numismatics collections, photographic materials, and items donated by distinguished fellow countrymen. The museum invites visitors to learn about the history of Urazovo and to see historical artifacts.
