About museum
\r\nThe T. G. Shevchenko Museum is located in the former Orsk Fortress and is housed in a house built at the beginning of the 20th century with wrought-iron gates. In 2010 the museum underwent renovation and a re-exposition. The exhibition acquaints visitors with Shevchenko's life in serfdom and the beginning of his creative path. You can also see a model of the fortress, the interior of a soldiers' barracks and the guardhouse, and gifts presented to Orsk by guests from Ukraine. In the "Gornitsa" hall the interior of a peasant house and an interactive space are presented, where one can feel like a bearer and continuer of cultural tradition. All household items can be examined, touched and imagined in use.
