A.P. Gaidar Memorial House-Museum, Arzamas
About museum
The museum's exhibition is located in a house built in the 1870s that belonged to former townswoman A. I. Babaykina. It consists of four memorial rooms: the parlor, the children's room, the parents' bedroom, and the kitchen. The furniture, household items and belongings of the Golikov family preserve the atmosphere of the early 20th century and still give this house the warmth and coziness of a family hearth. Here Arkady Golikov spent time to the sounds of the harmonium, staged plays, and wrote poems and letters to his father at the front. In 1918 the future writer left this house and embarked on "adult" life.
