About museum
In 1986, on the 100th anniversary of the birth of Gabdulla Tukay, the great Tatar poet, the Literary Museum was opened in a two-story late 19th-century mansion known as the 'Shamil House'. This place is not only a unifying center for admirers of Tukay's work but also a cultural center that gathers the creative energy of Tatar artists and cultural figures. Literary and musical evenings, concerts, lectures, meetings and memorial events are held here. The museum helps acquaint visitors with the golden treasury of Tatar poetry and world culture, whose works are admired by millions of people.
