\r\n\r\n The Volgograd Regional Museum of Local History is one of the oldest in the Volga region. It was founded in 1914 by the Society for the Promotion of Extracurricular Education and is housed in two buildings - the former Tsaritsyn Zemstvo Office and the Volga-Kama Commercial Bank, which are monuments of history and architecture from the late 19th to early 20th centuries and have great regional significance. The museum's collection comprises more than 160,000 items, including unique natural and historical monuments of the area. The museum's collections cover a variety of fields: paleontology and paleobotany, archaeology, ceramics and glass, ethnography of the late 19th - early 20th centuries, memorial collections of local figures, as well as materials on the socio-economic, socio-political and ethno-cultural development of the region in the 20th century. The museum offers a wide selection of permanent and thematic exhibitions, as well as temporary exhibitions, quests, walking tours, lectures, museum festivals and other events.
