The V.I. Chapaev House-Museum was founded on February 23, 1939 in a house that previously belonged to the merchant's wife Volkova. The mill manager lived here, and from January to November 1918 the family of V.I. Chapaev resided here. The museum's exhibition tells about the life and activities of the people's commander and his comrades. Chapaev's men arriving from the front often stayed here, and wounded soldiers were also treated here. You can learn about the combat path of the 25th Chapaev Division from the Civil War to the present day. The museum displays documents, photographs, and objects that recount the combat activities of V.I. Chapaev and his comrades. A bust of the Civil War hero V.I. Chapaev is installed. Over the years the house-museum has attracted many visitors from various regions of Russia. Here you can learn about the Civil War hero V.I. Chapaev, the commanders of the celebrated division, the establishment of Soviet power, and the historical past of the town and district.
