Church of Boris and Gleb in the village of Kideksha
About museum
Four kilometres from Suzdal, in the middle of a field, stands the ancient village of Kideksha, where one can see one of the oldest monuments of the Vladimir-Suzdal principality’s architecture — the white-stone Church of Boris and Gleb. According to legend, it stands on the spot where two Russian saints, the brothers Boris and Gleb, once met. Their third brother, Sviatopolk the Accursed, is said to be responsible for their death. This church is distinguished by its simplicity and monumentality. It is a simple cube with apses and a small dome on a slender drum. The Church of Boris and Gleb is included in the list of monuments of the Vladimir-Suzdal Reserve and is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
