About museum
Museum-Reserve 'Krasnaya Gorka' was established in 1991 in Kemerovo on the site of a former coal mine. It is a unique place presenting monuments of mining industry and historical-cultural heritage, preserved in the natural landscape environment. The oldest monument is Gorelaya Hill, discovered in 1721. Here you can also see the mouth of one of the first adits, constructions of the Kopikuz Joint-Stock Company, residential houses and civil buildings of the AIC 'Kuzbass'. Among 21st-century monuments at Krasnaya Gorka are the monument 'Memory to the Miners of Kuzbass' and the sculptural composition 'Saint Barbara the Great Martyr — patroness of miners'. The main theme of the museum is linked to the history of the Kemerovo mine and the city of Kemerovo. The museum offers tours of the Krasnaya Gorka site and screenings of newsreels on the history of the city, the coal industry of Kuzbass and the AIC 'Kuzbass'.
