About museum
The City United Museum of the History of the Development of the Angara includes the architectural and ethnographic museum 'Angara Village named after O. Leonov', an art exhibition hall, the Museum of the History of Political Exile, the Museum of the History of Bratskgestroy and the city of Bratsk, as well as the collections department with a scientific library. The main focuses of the museum's work are research activities, creating exhibitions and displays from the museum's collections, collecting and scientific description of museum objects, developing and conducting guided tours, as well as holding creative evenings, meetings and celebrations. Among the most valuable collections are: Evenk ethnography and shamanic cult attributes; icons and folding icons of the 19th–20th centuries; Russian ethnography; drawings, objects, photographs and documents on the history of the GULAG; and an archaeological collection.
