About museum
Bulgakov House Museum-Theatre was opened on May 15, 2004 at 10 Bolshaya Sadovaya Street. It is the first museum in Russia dedicated to Mikhail Afanasyevich Bulgakov and his work. The museum displays items from Bulgakov's era, personal belongings of the writer and his family, as well as a unique digital exhibition. The scientific-methodological department, together with the tours department and external experts, studies Bulgakov's life and work and creates materials that popularize his texts and ideas. Bulgakov House hosts a photo studio and a children's theatre studio, as well as two literary salons. The museum holds exhibitions of contemporary artists. In the basement there is the M. A. Bulgakov Theatre, which stages productions based on Bulgakov's works and those of other Russian and foreign authors. There is also a developing social project, "Invisible Performances" — performances for blind and visually impaired children. At Bulgakov House, every visitor will find something interesting and leave with many positive impressions.
