Topkinsky Historical Museum
About museum
In 1980 the Topkinsky Historical Museum was founded; today it offers visitors more than 14,000 exhibits. The museum has a numismatic collection, exhibits from the Great Patriotic War (World War II), household items and an archival/documentary collection. A special place is occupied by paleontological specimens recovered during archaeological excavations in the territories of the Zarubinsky and Ust-Sosnovsky rural councils, as well as in the area of the quarry of the Topki cement plant. The museum also hosts an exhibition "Topki: The Beginning of the Journey", which is dedicated to the railway and the people who worked on it. This reflects the fact that Topki was founded in 1914 during the construction of the Kolchugino Railway.
