About museum

The museum honoring the poet-educator Mukhamet-Salim Umetbaev opened in 1991 in his hometown. The exhibition is dedicated to the life and work of the Bashkir scholar, writer and publicist. Here you can see original manuscripts and documents, books, works of art and sculptures. The museum also displays the poet's personal belongings, photographs, items from a Bashkir yurt, clothing, tools and household utensils. The museum's collections comprise more than 300 exhibits, the majority of which form the main collection. As part of its cultural and educational activities, the museum hosts tours, meetings, lessons and public events.
