About museum

The Khotso Namsaraev Museum of Buryat Literature was opened on May 18, 1989, and contains more than 300 items. The exhibition presents 75 items that are part of the museum's main collections. Here you can see unique materials on the history of Buryat literature, from its origins and the rich oral folk creativity to the emergence of writing. Also presented are the early educators and teachers, information on the appearance of the first professional theatre, and the life and work of writers of the modern period. The museum is a non-profit literary institution, primarily engaged in cultural and community activities, and belongs to a regional organization.
