Vikulovsky People's Local History Museum named after A.V. Davydov
About museum
The Vikulovsky museum was opened on December 12, 1973 in the House of Pioneers. In 1985 a new building was constructed, housing four exhibition halls. The founder, organizer and first director of the museum was Anatoly Vasilievich Davydov. Today the museum has 26 collections and 6,500 exhibits. Two permanent exhibitions — "Prehistoric Period" and "Animal World" — acquaint visitors with the diversity of flora and fauna of the Tyumen region. In the "Everyday Life" section one can see kitchen utensils, footwear, clothing, tools, icons and metric books. The period of the Great Patriotic War (World War II) is also covered. The museum offers various activities: guided tours, themed events, lectures, creative meetings, off-site excursions, interactive classes and traveling exhibitions.
