Ivan Yarygin Museum
About museum
The Ivan Sergeyevich Yarygin Museum in the village of Sizaya — the only museum in Russia dedicated to the athlete — was opened to visitors on August 20, 1999. It features photo and video materials, documents, commemorative medals, cups and books of the great Olympian, as well as personal belongings and authentic exhibits from his parental home, and a display of farming tools. All this helps to understand how Ivan Sergeyevich acquired such an extraordinary strength of body and spirit. The aim of the institution is to form a well-rounded, physically strong, healthy person, a patriot of their region, country and the cause they serve. Visitors to the museum can observe the life of this great fellow countryman and learn interesting facts from his history.
