B-440 Submarine Museum

About museum

In 2005 the B-440 Submarine Museum was opened; it consists of a large Project 641 diesel-electric submarine. In 2012 it was incorporated into the Vytegra United Museum. The museum's exhibition is dedicated to the submarine's combat service and to the history of the development of the submarine fleet in Russia. The museum also features projects from the 'Victory' Museum as part of the international 'Territory of Victory' project. To provide information about the purpose of compartments, conning towers, equipment, and an audio guide for the main deck, a system of QR codes has been installed in the museum. The site hosts tours, quests, games, and talks for students of educational institutions. In addition, souvenir merchandise can be purchased.
