About museum

In 2003 the Museum of Communications History of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was opened on Chiryaev Street. It houses unique exhibits tracing the development of communications technology, the postal service, telegraphy, Soyuzpechat, radio broadcasting and television, long-distance communications and even special communications. The museum is very popular with schoolchildren, students and adults. It is located in the Main Post Office building, which was renovated with joint contributions from the city's communications enterprises. More than five million rubles were spent on this. Furniture and equipment for the museum were also purchased.
