Exhibition Department 'Museum Studio'

About museum

On October 3, 2005, the exhibition department 'Museum Studio' was opened. Its purpose is to present the collections of the Irkutsk Regional Museum of Local Lore. Seminars, scientific and practical conferences, and exhibitions of works by contemporary artists, photographers and masters of folk art are also held here. Among the permanent displays is a collection of furniture and interior items from the 19th–20th centuries that could have been found in Irkutsk homes years ago. Here one can see not only familiar furniture but also items such as chests, harmoniums, lomber tables and music boxes, which are no longer sold.
