Museum of the Vesnin Architects
About museum
On January 15, 1986, the Museum of the Vesnin Brothers was opened in Yuryevets, located in a small two-story brick house built in the 19th century, which until 1904 was owned by the parents of the future famous architects. The architects' father, Alexander Alexandrovich Vesnin, was an educated entrepreneur who had a library and supported the town's cultural life. His wife, Elizaveta Alekseevna, taught her sons and awakened their artistic abilities. The eldest brother, Leonid, was an excellent student from childhood and in 1899 entered the St. Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineers. The museum's exhibition is based on materials from the research museum, the personal archives of the architects' relatives, as well as materials from the Yuryevets Local History Museum. The museum displays images, projects, commemorative items, and documents. The museum received great assistance from the widow of V. A. Vesnin.
