About museum

In 1991, on the 200th anniversary of S. T. Aksakov's birth, the Memorial House-Museum was opened in his ancestral estate, which is an architectural monument of the mid-18th century. Over the years the house-museum has become one of the cultural centers of the city of Ufa and the Republic of Bashkortostan. The Aksakov movement is active here, within which International Aksakov Celebrations are held and cooperation takes place with universities, libraries, Aksakov-related sites, including the Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve. The Aksakov Museum has become an attraction for local historians, collectors, and city historians, thanks to the recreation of the noble atmosphere and the organization of exhibitions related to the history of the city, the republic, and the country.
