The State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve 'Kazan Kremlin' was established by decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan M. Sh. Shaimiev in 1994. It is one of the region's main attractions. The complex includes a number of museums: the Museum of the History of Statehood of the Tatar People and the Republic of Tatarstan, the Museum of Islamic Culture, the Museum of Natural History of Tatarstan, the Cannon Yard Museum, the Museum of the History of the Annunciation Cathedral, the Hermitage-Kazan Center, and the Manezh exhibition hall. They house over 10,000 exhibits presented in permanent and temporary exhibitions. The museum-reserve is open to visitors around the clock.
