The Literary Museum of the Pushkin House is the first and largest national general-literary museum in Russia. Its history began with the commemorative Pushkin exhibition in 1899. Today the museum's collection includes more than 200,000 items relating to the lives and works of Russian writers of the 18th–20th centuries. The museum halls are open to visitors daily except Saturday and Sunday. Various events are organized: celebratory and commemorative events, lectures, presentations and other activities.
