About museum

In 1974 a museum was opened in Rasskazovo on a voluntary basis at the initiative of educator Dmitry Petrovich Ignatov. In 1977 a decision was made to establish the Museum of the History of Weaving and the Textile Industry in the town. In 2006 it was renamed the Municipal Budgetary Institution 'Rasskazovo Local History Museum'. At present it features 11 permanent exhibitions and numerous temporary displays of historical/local studies, natural history, military-patriotic, and art-historical character. Visitors can also view private collections and other interesting exhibitions.
