Magnitogorsk Local History Museum
About museum
On August 31, 1944, the Magnitogorsk Local History Museum was founded. The museum's collections consist of more than 100,000 exhibits, including archaeological collections from the Upper Paleolithic to the Late Middle Ages, a collection of Ural minerals, artistic metalworking and copper casting, as well as household items. The museum's permanent exhibition presents the history of Magnitka and the history of Russia. Particular attention is drawn to the retro room 'Here everything is now a memory...'. The museum also houses a literary department — the apartment-museum of Boris Ruchyov, which is the only literary museum in the Southern Urals. The first-floor hall hosts themed exhibitions and other events. The museum attracts enthusiasts of Soviet and Russian literature and poetry.
