О музее
\r\nAlatyr Local History Museum has become a true keeper of documents and historical valuables related to the past of the town of Alatyr. The uniqueness of the museum's exhibits lies in the large number of original documents and objects, the abundance of varied exhibition material, and the professionally arranged interiors that convey the atmosphere of pre-revolutionary Alatyr. The collections cover a period of 400 years of the town's history from 1552 up to the 1950s. There you can see a model of the original fortress, authentic photographs of Alatyr's churches and monasteries at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries, learn about the consequences of detachments of Stepan Razin and Yemelyan Pugachev being in the town, and also see items that were sold in merchant shops and stores of pre-revolutionary Alatyr. The museum presents information about world-famous natives of the Alatyr region, such as Pyotr Kikin, Alexey Krylov, Stepan Erzia, and Alexey Sudaev.
