About museum
On October 6, 1904, at the district zemstvo assembly in Yarensk a decision was made to establish a Museum of Visual Aids. For this purpose, 50 rubles were allocated in 1905. In 1930 the museum was moved to the Transfiguration Cathedral, built in 1765. It became an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. In 2018 the museum was given the building of the Zemstvo outpatient clinic, where the main exhibition became the "Zemstvo Doctor's Office." The museum's permanent exhibitions present the nature and history of the Vychegda region, and the climb to the bell tower will provide unforgettable impressions. Visitors can learn about ancient monuments and feel the spirit of history.
