At the "Prikaznaya Izba" museum, the exhibition "New Year in Old Vyatka" (0+) has opened. This is already the second exhibition project of the Kirov Regional Museum of Local History, organized as part of the New Year's Capital of Russia.

In the interiors of the Prikaznaya Izba — one of the city's oldest stone buildings — the atmosphere of the late 19th century has been recreated. Unique New Year decorations from the museum's collection, old photographs and postcards will allow you to "travel back in time" and see what winter Vyatka looked like at the turn of the century.

The exhibition features various New Year accessories (candlesticks, candles, toys, postcards, decorative items). Thanks to garments from that time preserved in the museum, visitors will be able to see how Vyatka residents dressed for winter.

As usual, the Prikaznaya Izba will surprise guests with a festively decorated table, where prop artists have recreated the traditional treats customary in the hospitality traditions of the time. For culinary enthusiasts, secrets of tasty but forgotten dishes will be revealed.

The exhibition is intended for family audiences. During its run there will be workshops on lace-making, decoupage on wooden blanks, painting plaster New Year figurines, folk celebrations, and gatherings with tea.

Additionally, New Year exhibitions will delight Kirov residents and guests of the New Year's Capital at each of the museums that are part of the regional museum complex.
