Prikaznaya Izba Museum
About museum
Prikaznaya Izba — one of the first stone structures of civil architecture in the city from the first half of the 18th century — is an architectural monument of federal significance. It is one of the few monuments of Vyatka-Khlynov's civil architecture that have survived from the period of pre-regular urban development.
In 2023 the building was restored. The restored building houses the exhibition 'The history of the building in the history of the city', which acquaints visitors with the history of the building itself, Kazanskaya Street, Vyatka crafts and their development, as well as the traditions of Vyatka hospitality and cuisine.
The first hall of the exhibition displays museum items that tell about the lives, everyday life, and crafts of ordinary Vyatka residents. The interior of the second hall is filled with rarer and more refined museum exhibits and tells the story of trade and the merchant class.
The exhibition also includes display cases with products of Vyatka crafts:
– antique Dymkovo toys;
– tableware made from burl wood;
– woven (wicker) items;
– garmons and other musical instruments;
– children's toys;
– carved wooden items and more.
