The exhibition project 'Kirov Writers — Front-line Veterans' (0+), timed to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, is taking place on the grounds of the estate of the Saltykov-Shchedrin House-Museum. The Kirov branch of the Union of Writers of Russia is a partner of the exhibition.

The exhibition will introduce visitors to the biographies and works of twelve local writers who took part in the Great Patriotic War: Ovidiy Lyubovikov, Alexei Milchakov, Alexander Skornyakov, Boris Porfiryev, Lev Lubnin, Anatoly Ustyugov, Mikhail Ardashev, Yuri Petukhov, Vasily Subbotin, Andrei Blinov, Leonid Rakhmanov, Evgeny Petryaev.

All of them passed through the crucible of war but retained a love of literary creativity, and for some the combat experience became an impulse for creating poetry or prose. Their works include pieces in various genres (poetry, fiction, documentary prose, drama) about the war, about peacetime life, about the past and the future.

At the exhibition visitors will not only be able to see portraits of the writers and learn about their personal and creative paths, but also hear excerpts from their works: the exhibition is complemented by an audio track.

Admission is free.
