The Center actively participates in the development of international cooperation in the field of restoration and attracts foreign specialists to hold international symposia and conferences. The All-Russian Art Scientific-Restoration Center named after Academician I. E. Grabar is the oldest restoration institution in Russia and the flagship of state policy in the field of restoration of movable monuments of history and art. It pioneered many areas of scientific restoration. The Center restores works in tempera and oil painting, graphic art, stone and wooden sculpture, furniture, manuscripts and rare books, carved bone objects, metal, ceramics, porcelain, glass, textiles, leather, lacquerware and archaeological items. Over almost a century, thanks to the Center's staff, many historic and artistic monuments have been preserved. It also actively participates in international cooperation in the field of restoration, inviting foreign specialists to hold international symposia.
