About museum
In 1974 the People's Rural Art Gallery was opened, which today is part of the museum. It promotes the artistic heritage of the district, as well as providing education and aesthetic development for children. It features works by Uvinsky and Russian artists, including local artist and Honored Artist of Russia A. T. Russkikh, as well as G. G. Vereshchagin, S. S. Medvedev, P. S. Semenov, A. E. Lozhkin, V. V. Okun, V. B. Kotlyarov and others. Currently active are G. A. Chirkov, G. E. Sidorov, V. P. Kuznetsov, N. P. Semenova, A. S. Bazilevskikh, V. V. Kasikhin, G. L. Ilyinskikh, M. V. Potapova. The museum runs educational programs for children, various social projects for vulnerable groups of the population, and also carries out off-site activities to promote the work of Uvinsky artists.
