About museum

The Museum of Fine Arts of the Kemerovo Region is located in the city center. This building dates from the wartime 1940s, built in the style of the so-called "Stalinist Empire". It has three floors and a basement. KOMII is one of the largest art centers in Siberia. All areas of museum life develop and operate here, both traditional and innovative. The museum is engaged in the acquisition and storage of works of art, their study, cataloging, exhibition, research and publishing. The museum also actively participates in exhibition activities, introduces audiences to art and educates the younger generation. Museum staff are members of the Association of Museum Workers, the Union of Museums of Russia, the Union of Artists of Russia, ICOM Russia and the presidium of the Russian National Committee of ICOM Russia. In addition, the museum actively cooperates with public and charitable organizations.
