Valentina Borisovna Grekova

Valentina Borisovna Grekova was a Soviet and Russian artist-restorer. From 1950 to 1956 she studied at the Faculty of History of Lomonosov Moscow State University, graduating with honors and specializing in the history and theory of the arts. From 1962 she worked for the association 'Soyuzrestavratsiya'. She worked on the restoration of architectural and painting monuments of all-Union significance, such as the complex of the Storozhev Monastery in Zvenigorod, the ensemble of wooden architecture in Kizhi, the Petrovsky Travel Palace in Moscow, the monuments of Yaroslavovo Dvorishche and the frescoes of Saint Sophia Cathedral in Novgorod, the Assumption and Annunciation Cathedrals, as well as icons in the museums of the Moscow Kremlin. In 1992 she was awarded the title 'Honorary Citizen of Veliky Novgorod'. She died on April 2, 2019.
