About museum
In 2003 a permanent exhibition, "Fauna and Flora", was opened to introduce visitors to the diversity of animal and plant life of the tundra and taiga. Here you can see characteristic and common animal species: brown bear, wolf, wolverine, moose, marten, squirrel, white hare, beaver, fox, and various birds. Rare species included in the IUCN Red List and the Red Book of the Komi Republic are also on display. The exhibition also features an illuminated map of the republic showing deposits of mineral resources: fuel and energy resources, ores of ferrous, non-ferrous, rare and rare-earth metals, construction materials, and ornamental stones.
