About museum
The village of Ryabovo in Kirov Oblast is the birthplace of the famous Russian painters Viktor and Apollinary Vasnetsov. In 1981 a Memorial House-Museum for this family was opened here. It is now a museum-reserve that includes a landscaped area. On the museum grounds are the Vasnetsov family house-museum, an estate with farm buildings, the clergy house, the Vasnetsov linden tree, the ruined stone Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist and a wooden church. The museum's memorial exhibition presents the interiors of a children's room and a kitchen, portraits of members of the Vasnetsov family, archival documents and works by the artists. Various events are held at the museum and visitors are invited to tours of the estate and the Memorial House-Museum. Tourists can also visit the route "In the Labyrinth of Vasnetsov's Fairy Tales".
