Museum of Telephone History at "Masterslavl"

About museum

In May 2016 an incredible Museum of Telephone History opened at Masterslavl. It was based on the collection of a Geneva collector, which was purchased and brought to Russia by Mastertel's CEO Vitaly Ezopov. Here visitors can learn about all stages of telephone communication development, try their hand as a tour guide and fully appreciate the rare collection of telephone sets gathered from all corners of the globe. On display are early telephones from the Swedish firm Ericsson, American and British models from the early 20th century, the very first military phones, World War II field telephones from bunkers in Russia and Germany, as well as designer models from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. You can see wooden, bakelite, metal and plastic telephones in a variety of shapes and colors — unusual and stylish, luxurious and high-tech. More than two dozen exhibits give the younger generation a rare chance to become acquainted with the history of the telephone around the world.
