Chelyabinsk State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Arkaim"
About museum
The history of the Arkaim Reserve began in 1987. Archaeological reconnaissance carried out in the valley of the Bolshaya Karaganka River discovered a Bronze Age settlement and recommended halting construction of a dam to preserve the site. In 1992 the Arkaim Reserve was established. Over the past 30 years an open-air museum complex has been created here. Visitors can tour a traditional museum, travel back in time, stand among Bronze Age enclosures, enter Stone Age dwellings and touch antiquity. The Arkaim Reserve allows one to enjoy history and nature as a unified whole. Thanks to the Arkaim Reserve we can enjoy history and nature together.
