About museum
In 1990 Podgornenskaya Secondary School converted its museum into a branch of the Tomsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after M. B. Shatilov. In 2018 it was renamed the Museum of Kulay Culture, focused on the study of the ancient culture known as 'Kulay'. The museum currently holds approximately 5,000 storage units, including 403 documentary and book items, among them the 'Osmoglasnik' (1898) and a Gospel in the Tatar language. The museum also displays paleontological finds. One of its main projects is the exhibition 'Kulayka Mountain — a historical, cultural and archaeological monument of Chainsky District', dedicated to items from the Early Iron Age (5th century BC - 5th century AD). The museum's creation was initiated by N. P. Krytsin, a geography teacher and a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
