About museum
On May 1, 1924, the outstanding Soviet and Russian writer Viktor Petrovich Astafyev was born in the village of Ovsyanka. He loved returning to his native place and in 1980 he bought a small wooden house opposite his grandmother's home. Every summer Astafyev lived in Ovsyanka, and here he wrote many famous works. The house was visited by notable figures: M. Gorbachev, B. Yeltsin, V. Putin, A. Solzhenitsyn, N. Mikhalkov, V. Kurbatov, and others. Viktor Petrovich visited for the last time in 2001, and in 2002 his house was transferred to the Krasnoyarsk Regional Museum of Local Lore. In 2004 the writer's grandmother's house was opened as a house-museum, and in 2014 auditorium and exhibition halls were added. Thus a memorial to Viktor Petrovich Astafyev has been preserved.
