N. M. Dyakonov Literary and Theatrical Museum

N. M. Dyakonov Literary and Theatrical Museum is the only theatrical museum in the Komi Republic. It was opened on June 23, 1989 in the Ezhvinsky District of Syktyvkar and today functions as a municipal cultural institution. It houses materials on Komi theatre and its figures and also serves as a center for promoting theatrical, literary and other types of knowledge. The exhibition area of the main building contains three halls. The first is dedicated to the life and creative work of N. M. Dyakonov, the second to the history of theatres of the Komi Republic, and the third is an exhibition hall. The museum features a permanent ethnographic exhibition and offers various additional services, including a local history lecture series, a literary association, theatrical museum festivities and bus excursions. As of January 1, 2014, the museum's collection comprised 11,862 items.
