About museum
The museum's history begins in November 1933, when the People's Commissariat for Education of the RSFSR established the Museum of the Moscow Region Coal Basin on Bobrik-Gora in the settlement of Donskoy. In 1996 the museum was reorganized and became the Bobriki Historical and Memorial Museum Complex. The main site of the complex is the Bobriki estate, built to a design by I. E. Starov. Visitors can stroll around the estate grounds and visit the Church of the Transfiguration and the family vault of the Bobrinsky counts. Each year the museum receives more than 10,000 visitors. Museum staff devise a variety of interactive visitor programs: play-based tours, quizzes and master classes.

Paleontological collection of Pleistocene animal bones - 32 items in storage. Archaeological collections: stone axes of the Bronze Age, a Vyatichi settlement of the 13th–14th centuries - 11 items in storage. Collection of documents and personal belongings of Civil War hero N.A. Rudnev (1894–1918) - 222 items in storage. Collection of materials (documents, books, magazines) of Russian writer A.A. Demidov (1883–1932) - 25 items in storage. Lifetime editions of works by the founder of theoretical astronautics K.E. Tsiolkovsky, a gift from his daughters - 61 items in storage. Collection of materials on the construction of the first domestic apparatus 'Planetarium' (1939–1940) - 118 items in storage. Memorial collection (personal belongings and documents) of members of the Bobrinsky family, descendants of Empress Catherine II - 128 items in storage. The most interesting items from the collections.
