MBUK "Konoshsky District Local History Museum"
About museum
Konoshsky District Local History Museum — one of the youngest museums in Arkhangelsk Oblast. It opened its doors on October 22, 2003, on the 105th anniversary of Konosha.
The museum carries out exhibition and display, research and cultural-leisure activities; it collects, studies, and preserves the history and culture of Konoshsky District.
Currently the museum has five permanent exhibitions: "The Railway — the hub of life in Konoshsky District", "In the Footsteps of the Missing Plane", the literary-domestic exhibition "History of the village Norinskaya", the interactive museum exhibition venue "Museum Laboratory", and the paleontological diorama "The Kazan Sea on the land of Arkhangelsk".
The museum actively cooperates with people from Konoshsky District: artists, local historians, musicians and other talented individuals. To preserve the memory of fellow countrymen and their achievements, vernissages, local history lecture series, and dialogues on art are organized. Together with search teams, annual expeditions are organized to the sites of aircraft crashes in Konoshsky District during the Great Patriotic War, and research-and-search work is carried out concerning unrecorded military burials of Soviet soldiers.
